The Warner Brothers television production company shooting the new television series “The Originals” has leased over 200,000 square feet of industrial space for production offices and sound stages here in Rockdale County. The production company is employing over 200 people including craftsmen, actors, extras and administrative support staff.
Construction of sets, feeding of staff and crew, and utilities has already pumped hundreds of thousands of dollars into the local economy. The production company has been busy purchasing construction supplies and equipment from local hardware supply stores and has been purchasing fresh food from local grocery stores for craft services.
To date they have filmed six episodes in Olde Town Conyers, which they have turned into a replica of New Orleans, utilizing a number of local merchant’s store fronts and businesses as well as the streets of Olde Town.
