Conyers, Ga., residents should keep their eyes peeled for those familiar yellow production signs and actors dressed as 1800’s explorers over the next few weeks.
The HBO miniseries “Lewis and Clark,” starring Casey Affleck, will be filming in Conyers and the surrounding Rockdale County area. Tom Hanks’ Playton Production, Brad Pitt’s Plan B and Edward Norton’s Class 5 production companies will produce the six-hour miniseries.
Other shooting locations include the Pacific Northwest; Alberta, Canada; and Missouri.
The series, based on Stephen Ambrose’s book “Undaunted Courage,” follows the explorers from St. Charles, Mo., to Fort Clatsop at the mouth of the Columbia River in Oregon.
