Rockdale County is pleased that so many film and television productions have called Rockdale County and the City of Conyers home.
Film companies like Warner Brothers’ Bonanza Productions, the company behind filming “The Originals” in Conyers, Ga., for the past three seasons reports an annual payroll of $4.5 million a year.
The production leases more than 300,000 sf of office space and sound stages per month, and it contracts with over 75 local businesses for goods and services. They employ over 300 people, with about 20 percent of its full-time employees from Rockdale County. “The Originals” also pays about $45,000 in local personal property taxes, which directly benefits the county.
“The Originals” isn’t the only major television show to pick Conyers. Twentieth Century Fox also relocated its television show “Sleepy Hollow” here after leaving North Carolina. The “Sleepy Hollow” production leases over 220,000 sf of office and sound stage space with lease payments over $2 million in 2015. Employing over 350 full-time employees “Sleepy Hollow” along with “The Originals” make the film industry a top five employer in Rockdale County.
